Basic plot - A fic about Faith, the events before her journey to Sunnydale, and her decision to meet the famous Buffy, from Faith's POV.
I hit the floor painfully a deep flesh wound across my bottom lip, my breathing had became heavy. I looked through the curtains of my dark hair, anger blazing within me. The two vamps that had chased me into the abandoned warehouse hovered over me their teeth glistening with blood, their eyes flaring with hunger. They thought they were going to triumph over me, how wrong they were! I leaped back up into my fighting stance and threw my hair over my shoulders."Bring it on then." I cried in my most menacing voice, although I didn't feel that menacing, I felt a little drained.
The female of the two ran at me her arms clawing at the air wildly, I had to admit she looked rather stupid. I threw a punch to her deformed face and she hissed at me, *oh, yeah you're scary,* I thought sarcastically. I kicked her to the ground and she landed with a thud, this gave me the advantage for about two seconds, but that was enough. I ran at her male companion and pushed him into the wall, there was a squelch and a crunch as the snapped pole in the wall drove into his heart. He exploded into a cloud of dust before showering me with his beautiful remains, one way of getting the last move. I spun on the female again.
"Oh, I'm sorry your boyfriend went puff!"
She hissed again. What is it with vamps and hissing? Are they trying to be snakes or what? I jumped up and grabbed the bar above my head swinging over, doing a somersault mid spin, and kicking the vamp into a pile of wooden crates in the corner of the warehouse. She cried out and exploded into dust. Okay, so there are advantages to leading vamps into a trapped warehouse full of lots of little death traps, and I know it's cheating, but it's a whole lot easier.
I grinned. "Wood is good!" It was a bit of a stupid comment, but it felt relevant. I brushed my leather pants off and stretched my arms above my head. "That was a good fight." I declared and started the jog back to my place.

My apartment, well I should say room was really small. Okay it was bigger than a room in fact there were three rooms in it altogether. A main room, a bathroom, and kitchen to the side of the main room. The kitchen was well furnished, cooker, fridge, dishwasher (some of us need dishwashers), and plenty of work surfaces. The bathroom was okay, nice shower, huge bath tub, toilet and sink obviously. In the main room there was enough room for a double bed and a sofa, and of course a TV. Where would we be without the good old box of moving pictures? Probably having a lot more sex that's what! No, that's not all I think about, 'cause I know that's what your thinking. I am not some slut, I'm a growing teenager, but not an average teenager.
I am the Slayer, that's right the one and only. Well not the one and only, I heard these rumours from my watcher about this other Slayer, Buffy Summers her name is. I think it would be cool to meet her, Slaying together and that.
Slaying is cool, the rush I get from the kill is amazing. Even if I hadn't been told of my calling as the Slayer I would have been a fighter, maybe mud wrestling. No, I don't think so. Normal wrestling maybe, or Karate.

Kakistos, the vampire with cloven hands stood before me, a few metres away my watcher dead. My heart was beating so hard and fast I thought it would explode. I took a deep breath and scrambled towards the wall. My hair stuck to my sweaty face and dirt caked my arms and legs. I tried my hardest to move away from him but my vision kept being thrown back to my watcher lying in a pool of their own blood. Kakistos closed in on me and I began to pray, praying for my life. But then my hand met cool metal, sharp cool metal, a weapon. I knew metal couldn't kill vampires but it could buy me valuable time, time to run, time to save my ass. I grabbed the item, it was a piece of scrap metal. I leaped up and swung it at him, then I stared at him as he staggered back, the metal had cut straight into his face, straight across one of his gleaming eyes.
"Yes." I whispered under my breath, and jumped to my feet.
Glancing around I noticed a escape route. I placed my hands on the top of the wall behind me and hauled myself onto it. Then I ran until I reached the end of the wall, it opened up onto a street. I jumped down, crouching as I landed and ran out into the street in front of me. There was an alley leading away I took that route, still running. The alley eventually lead to a muddy track, I kept running, my hair tangling in bushes, my face being scratched by thorns and barbed wire. Eventually it opened onto another street, and only a block away from my apartment. I stopped for a moment to catch my breath, then ran back to my apartment. When I reached it I burst in and slammed the door behind me. Grabbing a huge bag from beneath my bed and threw as many things as I could into it, clothes, money, food, anything. Throwing onto my back and grabbing a jacket from behind my door I left my apartment.
Running again, only knowing that I had to get away from Boston and never return.

Sitting in the corner of the back of a van I hitched a ride in, I hugged myself tightly. My whole body was shaking with fear, a forced tear slipped down my muddy and sore face. I looked to my arms they were sliced from the barbed wire, and covered with blood and dirt, the pain was unbearable. My mind was filled with thoughts of how I'd betrayed my watcher, they didn't deserve to die, I deserved to die.

For once in my life I felt completely alone and as vulnerable as a child. Trying to get my life together after that was impossible, where ever I went Kakistos seemed to follow. It drove me crazy, once I found myself throwing all my belongings into a river in case on of his minions had bugged my stuff. That's what I kept thinking for weeks, they hadn't of course. But I was so scared.
A dirty, rundown, kids home in Kansas City was my sanctuary for about a month. Grey walls, cold slate floors, only thin sheets on the beds, tiny amounts of food. It was hell, but it was the only place I had to go to at the time. I befriended a young girl named Liana, she was a year younger than me, with almost white hair, ice blue eyes, and pasty skin. She was very shy and I found myself beginning to bring her out her shell, by the time I left she was a grinning, outgoing, beauty not a sad, shy, little girl like she had been when I arrived. The reason I left was this guy called Ryan, he was okay I guess, when I first met him in fact I quite liked him. But since then I've began to realize it's not good to make quick decisions on people. He used me, he hit me several times the evening I left, he actually
made me decide that it was a good idea to leave.Kakistos didn't find me there.

I travelled for a week or so until I found myself in California, and that's when I remembered that my watcher had said that Buffy Summers lived in California. It was my perfect chance to pull myself together and meet this supposed great gal.
The next day I arrived in the tiny town know as Sunnydale, a cute place, very quiet, very... quaint. Also very not-the-type-of-place-I-could-stay-in-long. How could anyone live there? Well a lot of people did live there.
I settled down into an apartment very much like my old one, although not enough room for a sofa. I also had to make do with a black and white TV. Paying the rent was the difficult part.
That evening I decided it was time to check out the night life, and I meant that in a club way and a fangy, vampy way. Even if I'd gone through a tough time slaying was still my call. The club I found was called the Bronze, and it was okay considering the size of the town. But vamp alert, there in the centre of the dance floor trying to be cool was a guy, a vampire, I mean like that shirt was in, gross! Silk and multicoloured, neatly tucked into his pants, dead give away. Time to slay.
So I strided over and began to dance with him, and okay I got a little into the dancing, it had been a while since I'd had any fun. Eventually I got bored of dancing with Mr. I-just-stepped-out-of-1972,
so I pointed to the doors and led him out. He thought he'd got what he wanted, actually I got what I wanted. So there was a good fight which I enjoyed a little more than he did, then these kids turn up, five of them.I studied the girl at the head of the group for a moment, small, blonde, stake in her hands... Buffy! She edged closer to take the fight into her hands.
"It's okay I got it, you're Buffy right?" Mr. Vamp tried to rip my throat out from behind, a little head butt sorted him. Then I continued. "I'm Faith."
"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say we've got a new slayer in town." One of the guys with her muttered.
Time to finish the vamp off. I glanced at the stake in Buffy's hands again. "Can I borrow that?" And grabbed it from her. Couple of kicks, little throwing my vampire friend into the fence, quick stab in the heart. *Bye, bye.* I thought.
Turning back to Buffy and the others, they were all staring at me. "Thanks B, couldn't have done it without you." I said giving Buffy back her stake and walked back into the Bronze.
And that was how I first met Buffy, the vampire Slayer.
